Types of Woods

Purpleheart Wood

Purpleheart trees turn quickly from brown to a rich purple color as soon as it's cut and exposed to daylight. It's some of the hardest and most durable wood in the world.

Pink Ivory

Once considered more rare than diamonds, pink ivory wood was treasured by the kings and queens of old. The tree itself takes hundreds of years to grow large enough to create even a small bowl.

Holly

The holly tree has long been a symbol of peace and goodwill. Holly has also been used as a symbol of salvation and sacrifice in Christianity and as a symbol for protection against evil spirits in other beliefs.

Black Cherry

The black cherry wood used in this ring comes from a 35+ foot tall black cherry tree that came down in our backyard. It's rich red tones are a vibrant addition to any design.

Rosewood

Our Indian Rosewood has a wonderful rich dark chocolate tone, with delicate hues of deep red blended in. We love pairing this with florals such as rose and accenting the rich dark brown hues with a touch of gold flake.

White Oak - Whiskey Barrel

Often employed in barrel making, oak is a common symbol of strength and endurance. We utilize both natural whiskey barrels and weathered whiskey barrels from a number of popular distilleries to craft unique color contrasts in our rings.

Bloodwood

Named for its deep red tones, bloodwood has a truly life giving story. Ancient cultures used the sap to help provided nutrients for babies. Even to this day, the tree's sap is utilized in treating medical conditions.

Mesquite

Known as a wonder tree, Mesquite is staple wood in the American Southwest. It is a highly adaptable and valued tree. It can adjust its root system to grow in a number of unforgiving environments, far from water.

Maple

A symbol of balance and promise, these trees have been valued for both their wood and rich syrup. The syrup was a marker of success and generosity. .

Walnut

Often used in cabinetmaking and in crafting gunstocks, Walnut is valued as a carving wood due to its rich color and grain characteristics. A symbol for clarity and focus, walnut is synonymous with intelligence and inspiration.

Mahogany

Mahogany has a natural reddish tone that darkens over time. A token of strength and protection, mahogany trees have been rumored to withstand lightning strikes.
