Read about how we make our rings
When Rustic & Main began, I had it on my heart to do something to support our Veterans. I knew I wanted to do a special ring for them, but it took a while for the design to come to me. I ended up having a chance (or fated) meeting within Donald McAlister from The Independence Fund, an organization doing some awesome things to help our wounded soldiers and their families. I knew this was the cause I wanted to get behind, and shortly afterwards, this ring came to be.
Purple Heart Wood
The Purple Heart medal is awarded to those brave soldiers who have been wounded or killed in combat, and traces its origins back to General George Washington and his Continental Army. It was, therefore, only fitting for us to include purple heart wood as the main theme and unique character of this ring. Purple heart wood is not dyed, but is naturally a deep, rich purple hue which intensifies over time.
M1 Garand Rifle Stock c. WWII
We decided to pair the purple heart interior of the ring with dark walnut from WWII era M1 Garand rifle stock wood. The determination of our wounded vets is so inspiring. Regardless of the wounds sustained, so many of them want to get back to the fight and stand shoulder to shoulder with their fellow soldiers. The M1 Garand served as the rifle for the Greatest Generation, and is more than a symbol of the fighting spirit that lives on.
5% of Proceeds go to The Independence Fund
As a way of giving back to those who have given so much to us, we are giving 5% of proceeds from this ring purchase to The Independence Fund. It's a great way to show our support and honor those who have served so well.
